NLL COVID-19 Update

NLL Families,

As the COVID-19 situation remains fluid with new developments daily, the NLL Board is working to do our best to ensure a great 2020 season.  On Monday, March 16th, Little League International released an updated statement concerning the 2020 season:

With the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Little League International Board of Directors and staff is now strongly advising all its local Little League programs to suspend/delay their Little League seasons through no earlier than Monday, May 11. We implore you to follow this recommendation and suspend all Little League activities through no earlier than May 11.

With this extension the NLL Board is hard at work exploring many options for the remainder of our season.  Please know, it is our desire to play baseball!  We are looking into every possible way to make this season a success for our players, families, and League.

For the time being we are holding to the new date that Little League International has released.  We are hopeful that as the COVID-19 situation develops and passes, our delay may shorten and we can get back to playing baseball.

We are looking into new dates to host the Hit-A-Thon.  Our players and families have done a great job fundraising for this event and we will still share in this special day!

Please remember, use of all  NVUSD's facilities is strictly prohibited and Garfield Park remains closed for use.

As always, we encourage you to remain positive. Take time to play catch, wiffle ball, watch baseball movies and talk baseball with your son or daughter.

We thank you for your ongoing patience, as we all walk through this uncharted territory together.
