Having a problem with a manager or coach?
None of the following information is meant to discourage you from bringing a conflict to the attention of the Board of Directors - it is meant to inform you of the items the BOD can address. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO COMMUNICATE!
- Talk directly with the manager/coach. Most issues can easily be resolved in a one on one conversation, away from the players, and not during games or practices. The first question the BOD will raise is likely to be "What did the coach say when the two of you talked?" Don't wait until mid-way through or after the season before expressing your concerns - problems should be addressed right away.
- Playing time issues - different levels have different playing time rules. All players must be given the minimum playing time requirements (MPR). Any playing time above the MPR is solely at the manager's discretion. For major level players, each player ready to play at the appointed time must play 6 outs on defense AND bat at least once. The requirements for the other levels can be found on our Rules page. Players arriving late can be inserted into the game at the manager's discretion, but if they do play, must meet MPR.
- Playing position issues - In the major level, the position a particular player plays is solely at the manager's discretion. In the minor and rookie levels, there are requirements that all players play a certain number of innings in an infield position.
- If an issue comes up during a game, talk to the Board Member On Duty (identified by a badge or by a Board of Directors shirt).
- If you cannot resolve an issue with a manager/coach, send a message to the appropriate League Commissioner. Your message MUST contain your name and phone number. Unsigned (anonymous) messages will not be acted upon. You can also send a letter to the the post office box shown at the top of the page.
